The mineral finds from Hartmannsdorf are linked to a thick vein zone that continues to the west. Some of the individual veins are very steep or wedge out completely.

Agate was found around the Hysselsberg as a selection stone and from digging in the nearby stream near Hartmannsdorf. Almost exclusively found as gangue agate in orange-red shades, occasionally with amethyst bands in yellowish colored coarse quartz.

The agates from the Röthenbacher Berg can be found in the form of samples around the stables and in the area of the quarry. Several veins with very different thicknesses were found in the quarry. The veins are not located in the quarry wall. They were uncovered during excavation work when filling material was removed for the new Klingenberg dam. The agates are red to orange but also white in color. The width of the vein, including the chert layers, can be up to 50-60 cm. Rubble formations are frequently found. Rarely, barite crystals and fluorite are intergrown in quartz druse cavities. Coral, fortress and rubble agate formations are found as read stones. Coarse barite is widespread.

The place name Hartmannsdorf should be avoided as a place name in order to avoid confusion. The place name Hartmannsdorf can be found several times in the Ore Mountains and in Saxony and is often associated with mineral sites.
